Fantasy AGE - Talents Overview

Talents and specializations are roughly interchangeable with specializations have more unique actions and talents having bonuses. The differences in power may be attributable to their requirements but largely feels like random numbers. Additionally I will categorize them into one of the three pillars of TTRPG (combat, social, exploration) as explored by Fantasy AGE and their categories of stunts.

Overall Observations

  • So few unique class based talents, as if there almost shouldn't be class restrictions
  • Talents are more clearly bucketed by exploration, social, combat... much like stunt advancements are designed
  • None Envoy only talent
  • One Mage only for more spells
  • Thiever should be a specialization it has specific lore to it
  • It was a bit hard to put some talents completely in one category. Specific talent degrees could go in hard categories, but a bit weird to mix it. Carousing was like that where the master degree gave bonus to fights you start in a bar. Thematic but off pattern?
  • Ability requirements are all over the place. I didn't post each talent tier bonus but over all the bonus is a +1 to something but requirements are from none to a class and +3 ability score, or just a class, or just a focus. Its a mess.
